For me, the question of how to weigh up the value of one-already-human life against a yet-to-be human life is not an un-knotty problem.
What strikes me here in the article attached to the link below is the hard line drawn against a victim of on-going abuse. And the ex-communication of the girl victim and the doctors, but not the perpetrator.

There are strong personal reasons as to why this article grieves me, but if I try to stretch myself beyond this limitation, I still can't see how the Vatican stance portrayed here is even close to OK.
